It's seems like it's not. I'm not saying that religion is evil but when you look at our world, throughout history, we've killed and tortured more people in the name of some God or higher purpose and we're still doing it!!!

Too many wars have been fought and lives lost in the name of religion. Along with many popular religion seems to come judgement and separation. If humans will rise above religion to a more universal spiritual understanding of the divine within us all, I think the world willl be a more peaceful place.
